Sheffield MP calls for changes in the law
Paul Bloomfield a labour MP has called for a change in the law of assisted dying.
Paul told MPs that his father committed suicide shortly after he found out that he had terminal lung cancer at the age of 87
He said: “I think his experience shows how the existing [assisted dying] law not only fails people, but leads to premature deaths.
Currently as the law stand anybody who assists with the death of another person to die is liable of up to 14 years in prison .
